Au Pair's Message to Families
I am currently taking language courses in Santiago, Chile. I will be in them until the end of February. After that I would love the opportunity to be an Au Pair during the school year for a family in Chile so I can really experience living in another country. I am very independent and came to Chile not knowing anyone. I have no problem making friends and would be honored to be part of your family. I am an excellent communicator and would love to practice my Spanish as well as teach anyone English who would like to learn. I have been told I have the patience of a saint, and am very confident in my ability to connect with children.
I have worked with children since I was a teenager. I was a long term nanny when I was 17 years old for a family in Park City, UT. I have graduated with a BA in Sociology from American University in Washington, DC about 4 years ago. Since that time I have been working professionaly as a social worker for teenagers and as an educator for an after-school program with kids aged 6-15. I am excellent with children and would be happy to give you the names and contact information of any of my past employers or even the teens I have mentored.
I love dogs and grew up in a household with pets. I am not a smoker and never have been. I am very tidy in common areas and would not mind doing some household chores. I love hiking and swimming in lakes and continuing my education in any way possible. I am not a paid member of the site so can't contact you directly. My spanish is very basic now, but I'm hoping to improve greatly in the next few weeks.
