Au Pair or Nanny's Message to Families

Hello, Cathy here! About myself-I have successfully raised 4 healthy intelligent people with mutual love and respect.I worked professionally 15yrs as a caregiver with special needs adults (chiefly autistic and schizophrenic).I have first aid training, Canadian driver's license, and can provide great references (and criminal record check).I have many elderly friends that I've helped, and have parents in their 80's.When my kids" left the nest", I traveled, and worked for a Canadian NGO in the Philippines and Central America.I came back to Canada to work as a nanny/personal assistant with a young professional family in Victoria,B.C. I really connected with that family and still lovingly keep in touch.. 2 years ago, my husband and I,(along with with 2 daughters), rather spontaneously bought a small run down coffee farm in Southern Costa Rica. We have overseen the revitalizing of the coffee and built a house, (the crew spoke no English!) We are growing food, learning to process and roast coffee and have proceeded to move forward with selling our coffee in Canada. After our first coffee harvest last fall, I saw a need to make some income in 2012.I am presently working a good job as a live in nanny for a family with 2 boys in Nova Scotia. Their youngest will be starting school in September and there won't be a need for full time work at this residence. I would like to work October, November December If things worked out great and I really clicked with the right family, I am flexible enough to consider staying longer, or a jobshare situation of 4 or 6 months at a time.I love to garden, cook,walk, sing, draw, read ,watch movies,HBO, listen to all kinds of music,and Google tons of stuff.I'm taking Spanish lessons and play a bit of keyboard.I would love to get back to the coffee farm 3 or 4 months a year.
