Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear Family,

My name’s Marie and I would like to become part of a nice family for the summer. If you’re looking for someone who is open minded, outgoing, flexible & humerous and who can be like a big sister then I’m probably the right one!

I grew up in Graz, Styria, with my older brother Nik and my parents, who both work as teachers. I have finished school (which was focused on art) in June 2009 and got the matura, which is "the Austrian equivalent of A-Levels", and have lived as an aupair in London from October 09 - July 2010, which had been a dream for a long time! I have fallen in love with the job as an au pair, made great new experiences, had lots of fun with the children and family, found new friends, began to understand ironing, and became an excellent cook! I spent the last year studying art history and philosophy, which I'm quite intersted in, but was mainly jobbing around, e.g. working at a record store, as a babysitter and as a waitress. This September I was very lucky to get a place at the college of education, where I currently study Special Education Teaching, which is great! I will have summer holidays from July - September and I would love share this time with someone who needs a hand.

I love children and I always like spending my time with them; I do regular babysitting (a toddler and her baby brother), and I did an internship in a kindergarten a couple of years ago. I love my family, my cat and my friends, socialising and talking, singing, dancing, sewing, painting, photographing, cabaret, music, movies, books and Art in general. I’m an easy-going, open-minded and honest girl and I hope I can find a talkative, nice and humorous family, where i can just be myself and have a good time with.
