Au Pair's Message to Families

Hello. My name is Haemin , from South Korea. I lived in LA as an au pair for my first year and I got into rematch at last year christmas time and found my perfect family in northern Virginia and came to this area at Dec 30th, 2011. I submitted the extension application when I was in LA and I didn't know I going to have rematch at that time. So when I came here I was going to extend with this current family but my host dad had a financial problem with Cultural Care and he don't want to be in CC agency anymore. So last week, he discussed with the other agency and he's going to switch to that agency after my 1st year ending date(Feb, 13th, 2012). So that's why I need to look for new family suddenly for my 2nd year.. When I live in Korea, I studied Early Child Education in the University, teacher department, and I got made a 2 yrs vacation to come to America for au pair job. So I have great experiences such as kindergarten(3 years old, 5 years old class) for one semester, nursery(2 years old) for about an year, and I did math tutoring job for about one and a half year for part time(13-14 years old). And also I had an opportunity from public middle school to become a after school teacher who volunteer for low-income home child so I had my own class as an teacher for one semester. Since I've been US, I take care of young kids. My first family's host kids ages are 2 and a half (twins, now their 3 and a half), and 12months old baby (now he's 2yrs old). And my current family has one little boy, 2 years old. So I have au pair experience with infant and toddler. I drove in Korea about 1 year. But my first host family doesn't need me to drive in their house so I couldn't do it in America. But I really know how to drive. Also I’m going to get Virginia license at least next week(Feb 2nd week). I have generous attitude, open mind. Also I'm a positive, easy going person, creative thinker. Thanks. Haemin.
