Au Pair job description

What we are seeking: We are looking for a live-in child caregiver who will also help around the house and run minimal errands (groceries, post-. The successful candidate would be loving, courteous and patient with our three-year old daughter. They would keep our home tidy, performing basic house-keeping duties (laundry, vacuuming, dishes). They would play with our child, teach her new things, and make an effort to provide a fun-filled, educational, and adventure-filled environment for her. We would also appreciate an individual who would help prepare family meals prior to our arrival home from our work days. We have a family dog and a family cat, both of whom would require some degree of attention. Hours of work will be Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00 PM (approximate). Occasional evening or weekend caregiving may be requested and will be arranged with candidate at time needed.

What we are are offering: We have a lovely guest room with attached full bathroom. The successful candidate would have their own room and bathroom, for privacy and personal time. We will furnish the room, and provide bedding, towels, etc. We will provide household supplies, and food for candidate for duration of stay. Whenever possible, candidate will travel with us on family vacations and long-distance outings. Weekends will be considered free-time, and we will transport candidate to transit/train station should they wish to go to Toronto or other tourist destination. Candidate is always welcome to remain in our home on weekends. Occasional evening or weekend caregiving may be requested and will be arranged with candidate at time needed.

Family's Message to Au Pair

We are a small family of 3. Father is a General Manager at a major airport and mother is a veterinarian and runs her own veterinary practice for cats and dogs. Our daughter is 3 and a half years old, bubbly and adventurous. We have had her at a Montessori pre-school for 2 years now, and she has excellent manners, and is keen to learn new things. She loves animals, especially large cats (Jaguars, cheetahs, tigers, and lions), and has MANY toy cats scattered around our home. We are hoping to find someone who will become a part of our family for a period of time. She will love our daughter, and see to it that she continues to grow, and experience all the amazing things the world around her has to offer. We live in a small middle-class town, with many parks, schools and other children around. We are only a 10 minute drive to the nearest large city, Newmarket, Ontario, and we do most of our major errands there. We are approximately 45 minutes north of Toronto, and make many trips into the city for various occasions and experiences. We have a 7 year-old Border Collie dog, and a very old cat. The dog will become your best friend, and will love to go for walks or play in the yard on warm days.
