Au Pair or Nanny's Message to Families

Ecuadorian Nanny wants to share her culture while enjoy the time with the children. I´m 27 years old and I´m looking forward to work with children.

Dear Family,

My name is Evelyn. I'm 27 years old. Although I currently live in Ecuador - Quito, where I had completed my superior education in Bussiness at the ESPE University (Army Polytechnic University) but the last two years I went to Africa, Mozambique specifically, I was doing a volunteer work in the communities and specially with children in the education aerea, that is why actually I really enjoy working with children, because they give you the most appreciated payment, a smile... My family is huge, I have 6 sisters and I´m the last one, so I´ve earned experience about childcare with all my nieces and nephews, they are in total 17 at this time. I really enjoy my time with them and even if some of them are like 17 or 18 years old (some even more) They are always in contact with me, the little ones are constantly looking for my free time to do something funny and of course we also find time for learning new things, like some words or phrases in english or portugues. My Parents are always encounraging me to do what I feel is the best, that is why even if I got my degree I think that my strong passion are the children. I also love to teach, so I hope can study my post-grade in education, I know I will do it, I just need some more experience and money, but know after my volunteer work (it was a long time) I´m sure that there are things more important than the money. My favorite phrase is "TO BE first, and in the end TO HAVE because this last is coming once you are a good person" so that is my inspiration... Being a good person for the rest of word but more important is being a good person for myself. My first language is, of course, spanish, and I'm also studying English and portugues because I like to share time with people from other country, I think that is the best way to improve your language skills. I started learning English in primary school, and it was also the language of instruction in the secondary school I attended. I have in addition been taking courses taught in English at university. I speak an intermediate level of Portugues, because I spent long time in Mozambique which is a portugues speaking country. I begun learning it in the caribean where I had my training to go to Africa and have been taking Portugues language classes on line for the last four months.

When I am not studying or working, I like to go swimming and play football soccer with my nephews. I also like singing and listening to music.

I will be happy to help your family with some housework and ironing and I would like to go to school to study another language or improve my english or portugues.
