Au Pair's Message to Families
My name is Hollie and I am a summa cum laude university graduate with a BS in multidisciplinary studies with an emphasis on English/Language Arts education. I have worked as a tutor, nanny, and teacher for a combined 11+ years of experience. I am a Texas native but am currently the lead kindergarten English teacher, music and movement, and native speaker for a school in Warsaw. My contract will be up in the future and I am looking for the next great adventure. I am willing to travel almost anywhere for the right family.
I am looking to return to being a au pair/nanny because I believe that one on one connection with a family is the best way to provide the best care and education to a child. When you are a nanny you are a team with the parents and I really like that.
I love children and will care for your child as if they were my own. I am also completely willing (and also firmly believe it is the polite and honorable thing to do to help contribute in this way) to do meal preparations, run errands, and perform housework.
I am CPR and first aid certified and am continuously educating myself in education and child development so that I can stay abreast of new research and ideas. I am a go getter, organized, and love everything from decorating to baking, and of course teaching.
I am also interested in working as a personal assistant and helping a family or individual out with everyday needs whether that be on their farm or with shopping and keeping their household organized. Furthermore, the idea of being a companion to an elderly person really touches my heart. I am very close to my grandparents-always have been-and there is something so special about sharing time with them and listening to their stories. Engaging them in conversation and just enjoying life with them. I have worked, during college, as a caregiver for a woman with Alzheimer's. It was one of the hardest (in the sense that it was heart breaking) and most rewarding things I have ever done.
