Au Pair job description
Family's Message to Au Pair
Hi there. We are a family of five located in Reno,Nevada, and we look forward to having you be our sixth family member. The addition of a female will be particularly welcomed as we have a house full of boys. Our oldest son Blaise is seven years old; our middle son is Dax, three years old; and our youngest addition is Asher, just three months old. We are pretty young parents as Ryan is 38 and Jaime is 34. We are both doctors specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry. Our family is very friendly and warm and we hope to make it feel like home when you are here. Ryan speaks German, Spanish, and French but he only speaks German to the children. We hope to have someone speak German with the children, but of course we'll speak English.
Reno is a middle sized city just 45 minutes to Lake Tahoe and 3 hours to San Francisco. We love living here as there are many outdoor activities all year round, such as skiing, hiking, riding bikes and swimming. Ryan rides his bike about 3 times per week, and Jaime likes to go the gym or go for a run. The boys also like to be busy playing outside or going somewhere fun. Although we like being active, we are also happy just spending down time at home. We spend most of our weekends doing fun things with the kids, shopping, or watching movies. We also like to spend time with Jaime's family who live in Reno as well. Her sister will also be having a German aupair starting in October, and we look forward to all doing things together.
A typical day with us during the week can be a bit hectic. We currently work a full time job, but the plan is for Jaime to only work part time starting in the summer. Blaise goes to school during the day and the little ones stay home. Since the baby is only 3 months old, it is important that you feel comfortable with an infant. We do not do a whole lot of cooking and will often eat out or make quick easy meals. Hopefully Jaime will be able to cook more now that she will only be working part time. The middle one, Dax, will probably be going to preschool in the fall a few days per week. Since we may need help picking up and dropping off the children, you will be able to use one of our cars during the day. You will also be welcome to use it when you are not working. We realize it is important for you to be able to go out with friends or use your own time to do things. During other times, you are always welcome to be included in our activities. We are a very laid back family, and don't ask a whole lot, other than to take good care of our children.
Our goal will be to make sure this is a good experience for both you and our family. We are looking forward to becoming good friends. We like to travel, and usually make a few trips a year. Should there be any problems or concerns, we hope you will feel comfortable talking to us. We will make sure you are getting a good cultural experience and having a good time. We look forward to meeting you and sharing the next year together.
