Au Pair job description

We are a young British / Polish family, currently living in Germany. We are family of 3 looking for an Au pair / Nanny to look after our little daughter, starting the end of June 2011 for a minimum of 10-12 months, until as long as desired.

We expect a person that truly loves children, someone to have sole charge of our daughter care and welfare while maintaining her routine alongside high family morals & values. For the first month and a half it would be a full time care - 9h/day, from 15th of August when she goes to Kindergarten, around 5h/day. You need to have at least a little bit of child care experience with a contactable reference, driver's license is necessary, candidates with CRB check and First Aid will be a bonus.

During your working hours it is required for you to be with her early in the morning (we leave for work around 6.20), take sole responsibility for her morning routine, give her breakfast, get her dressed and walk her to kindergarten. The kindergarten starts at 8am and finishes at 3pm. We would like you to pick her up, give her a little meal and play with her till we are back.

We would also like some help around the house and the usual activities for an Au pair, to clean up after Tiana, yourself, ironing and light housework.

We would also require an occasional evenings baby-sitting.

You will have your own bedroom on the top floor of the house but share a bathroom with the rest of the house as there's only one. You will have access to the internet, TV, and of course meals with the family. We live in Erkelenz, a small town in Germany,within walking distance from town-centre, it is picture pretty and there is a lot to do here socially. We are close to Dusseldorf and Koln.

We would like to fully integrate the Au pair into our family life and therefore expect an honest and reliable character.

You must be able to speak good English. We would prefer a female Au-Pair between 19 and 30yrs, but will consider all female candidates of any nationality, as long as you can travel to Germany without a visa. Pay will be 240 Euro weekly.
