Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear family, Thank you for taking an interest in my profile! My name is Veronique, 29 years old and I am from the Netherlands. Currently I'm living in the Carribean though, where I work as a nanny. As my contract ends in september, I would love to join another family in oktober/november!

A little bit more about me: I'm an energetic, enthusiastic, outgoing person who loves to travel, explore, socialize, dance, swim, snorkel, bake, paint, draw, play boardgames, being outdoors and the list goes on :) I have always loved being around and working with kids! Before I became an aupair I have worked as an art therapist and a childcare worker. As an art therapist I've worked with special needs children for over 2 years in Holland, but in Africa as well. After that I've worked for over 2 years as a childcare worker, giving guidance to children with autism and/of ADHD and their families. I really loved my job, but I really wanted to travel and expand my horizon as well. Therefore I decided to become a nanny and I love it!

What can you expect from me: Being an active person, I always like to do 'stuff'; play board games, play ball games, go swimming, go to a park, visit places etc. I don't really believe in the tv, so I like to keep the kids busy with other activities. Most important for me is that everyone is having fun and there is a lot of laughter! Something else I find very important, is being clear and consistent. This way everyone knows what is being expected and what the possible consequences are. As I said before, I'm a fun and outgoing person, but I can be strict when I need to be and reliaible and responsable at all times!
