Au Pair's Message to Families

Chères familles,

Je m'appelle Gosia, 21 ans, étudiante polonaise de génie civil. Je suis une personne indépendante, créative, gentille, patiente, qui aime s'occuper des enfants. Je suis souriante et facile à vivre. Ma famille se compose de cinq membres: mes parents, deux sœurs (23 et 9) et moi. Mon anglais est fluide et mon français est élémentaire. J'ai mon permis de conduire avec tous mes points depuis 3 ans. Je suis très sociable et ouverte d'esprit, je respecte les habitudes, les croyances et la vie privée. A propos du sport : Je fais du snowboard, du vélo, de la natation et je joue au volley-ball. Je mange de tout et je ne fume pas.

J'ai travaillé comme fille au pair avec quatre familles déjà (en Angleterre, en Espagne et en France). J'ai gardé toujours deux enfants (de 1 à 7 ans). Ils étaient billingues et on m'a été demandé de leur parler en anglais, mais cela ne me dérange pas de parler français, ça va m'aider à m'améliorer. Mes tâches étaient : jouer avec eux, préparer des casses-croûtes ou des repas, leur enseigner l'anglais et les mathématiques, garder leur chambre en ordre et les garder quand leurs parents étaient absents. Je peux faire quelques travaux ménagers et la cuisine si nécessaire. Et je dois dire que je ne considère pas la télé comme une nounou, je préfère d'autres méthodes pour amuser les enfants – par exemple le dessin, la confection de costumes ou les sorties au parc.

Je voudrais travailler à Strasbourg (ou quelque part proche) car je projette d'y vivre d'ici quelques années. J'ai beaucoup d'amis qui habitent dans cette région et serai donc plus confiante pendant le travail. Je suis disponible du 23 Juin jusqu'au 30 Septembre 2012. Je préfère avoir des horaires de travail réguliersl et quelques week-ends inoccupés pour voyager et découvrir la France un peu plus (mais si c'est nécessaire cela reste flexible). Je suis prêt à couvrir les frais de ma venue, si c'est nécessaire.

I am Gosia, 21-year-old Polish student of civil engineering. I am an independent, creative, kind, patient person who likes busying children. I find myself smiling and easy-going. My family consists of five members: parents, two sisters (23 and 9) and me. My English is fluent and my French is communicative. I hold a clear driving licence for 3 years. I am very sociable and open-minded, I respect people's habits, beliefs and privacy. About sport - I snowboard, ride a bike, play volleyball and swim. I do not have any special diets and I do not smoke.

I have worked as an Au-Pair with four families already (in England, Spain and France) always taking care of two children (aged from 1 to 7). The kids were mostly billingual and I was asked to speak to them in English though I do not mind speaking French, it would definitely help me improve it. My duties were to play with them, prepare snacks or sometimes meals, teach them English and Maths, keep their rooms tidy and guard them while parents were away. I am willing to do some light housekeeping and cooking if needed. And I must say I do not approve treating TV as a nanny, I prefer other ways of entertaining children – like drawing, making costumes or going out to park.

I would like to work in Strasbourg (or somewhere near) because of planning to move there in some years. I have a lot of friends living around what will make me feel confident while working. I am available from 23rd of June until 30th of September 2012. I would prefer to have regular working hours and some week-ends off to travel and discover more and more about France (though I can be flexible with that sometimes). I am willing to cover costs of my coming if needed.
