Au Pair's Message to Families

Dear Families,

I am almost 19 year old girl, currently studying in highschool in Olsztyn, Poland. This year I have my leaving school exams and I am about to make a decision what to do with my life after graduation. The choice is a really difficult matter and I might need more time to think. That is why I am thinking of taking a gap year. I would like to improve my language skills during this time, get into knowing other cultures and people from different parts of world. I believe it could help me discover what is my life's destination. I have always been interested in the world that surrounds me. I study geography and maths in highschool on extended level. I see myself doing a job that requires working with people and needs creativity, thinking and action. I am keen on learning languages, I study English and Spanish at school, however my Spanish is intermiediate, and German additionally. I love to cook and bake, discover new cuisine and tastes. I can't imagine my life without my frirends that always supports me with my ups and downs and are there for me no matter what. I also have a sibling - older sister, Joanna (22yo) studies psychology in Cracow and younger, Magdalena (16yo) studies in Gymnasium in my hometown. I am interested in contemporary history, art, cultures, music. I enjoy dancing and singing (especially when noone sees me;-)), watching movies and tv shows as well as outdoor activities like playing beachvolley, swimming, canoeying, sunbathing, jogging.I like travelling, discovering new places, feeling the atmosphere of the place I am currently staying in. I may describe myself as a quite active person. I am also very tolerant and open-minded. I think I don't have to admit that I truly love kids, because it's kind of obvious in this job :-) I have worked as an au pair three times so far - in Helsinki, Potsdam, Hamburg - I spent aprox. a month at each family's place. Those were unforgettable experience. I Iearned a lot about myself, children, people and a world during my stay. I became more self-confident, independent and open to new adventures and challenges.
